Pseudorandomness for Regular Branching Programs via Fourier Analysis

Revisions: 1

We present an explicit pseudorandom generator for oblivious, read-once, permutation branching programs of constant width that can read their input bits in any order. The seed length is $O(\log^2 n)$, where $n$ is the length of the branching program. The previous best seed length known for this model was $n^{1/2+o(1)}$, ... more >>>

Recursive Error Reduction for Regular Branching Programs

Revisions: 1

In a recent work, Chen, Hoza, Lyu, Tal and Wu (FOCS 2023) showed an improved error reduction framework for the derandomization of regular read-once branching programs (ROBPs). Their result is based on a clever modification to the inverse Laplacian perspective of space-bounded derandomization, which was originally introduced by Ahmadinejad, Kelner, ... more >>>

Weighted Pseudorandom Generators for Read-Once Branching Programs via Weighted Pseudorandom Reductions

We study weighted pseudorandom generators (WPRGs) and derandomizations for read-once branching programs (ROBPs), which are key problems towards answering the fundamental open question $\mathbf{BPL} ?{=} \mathbf{L}$.
Denote $n$ and $w$ as the length and the width of a ROBP.
We have the following results.

For standard ROBPs, there exists an ... more >>>
