Binary code rate bounds via classical--quantum channels

We derive the four principal asymptotic rate-distance tradeoffs for binary codes---Plotkin, Elias--Bassalygo, and the two McEliece--Rodemich--Rumsey--Welch (MRRW) bounds---from one theorem, the ``pretty good criterion.''
